What is almost here? You ask....
The start of a big and excellent adventure, I respond.....
A few months back, there was a post on a dog stuff resale list I am on. A woman with a kennel in Italy needed some help....On a whim, I emailed her....One thing led to another, and off to Italy I go to work, at a wonderful kennel on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea...
Just outside of Naples, in a small village, lies a beautiful bed and breakfast on the coast.....http://www.villagiulia.info/uk/index.html....at this B&B are some Siberian Huskies, that are in desperate need of an intelligent caretaker....
So, for a nice salary, and all expenses paid....I am leaving in January, for a trip of a lifetime.....What a wonderful adventure Largo and I will be having.....
The last time I was in Italy, I swore, I would go back, and play there again....We think that we have "old" or "antique" stuff here in the United States, but you haven't seen anything until you have lain on your back, looking up at the ceiling of church built in 900AD, with a mosaic tile ceiling, that the tiles are the size of a sim card for a cell phone....in other words, really small.....about the size of an M&M.....
You haven't seen old, until you have stared at the Greek Statues in the Vatican, that were carved with loving care by an unknown artisan in the before Christ was ever born.....
And, the food.....Yummmm....The wine? Can't wait.....The people? Awesome.
So, in the coming days, look for posts about playing in Pompeii....about scuba diving Roman Ruins just off the coast of Cuma....about the life and hustle-bustle of Naples, Rome, Venice and other glorious places....
And, look for posts with Largo and I taking charge of some very regal Siberian Huskies, and as we all learn the basics of sled pulling, and maybe, one day, in the future, actually enter a sled dog race in the Alps.....
With the coming of the new year, what an excellent way to begin a new awakening.......
